Roos Arts Presents a reading from recent work by Tony Brasunas, Dorothy Albertini and Tanya Robie. Please join us for an evening of great stories of fiction, nonfiction and good company.

Tony Brasunas will read from his new book, "Double Happiness." This book recounts the author's very first travels, a year-long visit to China as a young man, a traveler and a teacher. There will be a Q & A after the reading. For more information and reviews about the book, please visit:

Tony Brasunas
grew up on a commune in West Virginia. He attended a public high school in Atlanta and a small college in New England, then boarded a plane for the People's Republic of China. When he's not writing, he's working at a solar energy company in Oakland, playing guitar, or traveling to destinations near and far with his wife. tonybrasunas.com/writings.cfm

Dorothy Albertini
's work appears in Fence Magazine, Aufgabe, H_ngm_n, Drunken Boat, Tantalum, the Brooklyn Rail, and NANO Fiction. She’s been a Fellow at the MacDowell Arts Colony, Ucross Foundation, and Blue Mountain Center. She lives and writes in Kingston, NY, and teaches writing and works in academic advising at Bard College. dorothyalbertini.com

Tanya Robie
earned an MFA in Fiction at Spalding University, and a BA in Writing for Social Change from Prescott college. She is a novelist who also writes short story and essay. She works as an editor, writing mentor, and yoga teacher in the Hudson Valley. tanyarobie.com

A couple of low-to-no sew ideas will be introduced including the ultimate aggression-relieving technique: shredding!

- Functional Workshop 1 | Sunday, March 31, 2013 at 2 pm - 4 pm. | It's so basic weaving with Melissa Halvorson. Melissa will show us how to make a basic, plain weave fabric-making on an index card loom. No material required. No experience needed. All are welcome. If you'd like, bring snacks to share. - TABLE OF CONTENTS: An Artist's Book Talk with Laura Moriarty and Kate McCoy. Please join us at Roos Arts on Sunday, June 10 at 3pm for a book talk with artist Laura Moriarty and SUNY New Paltz Professor and contributing writer Kate McCoy. The pair will talk about Laura’s new artist’s book, "Table of Contents," a catalogue of her recent work playfully reimagined as a geology textbook. The book features essays by McCoy, as well as Elizabeth Ellsworth, Jamie Kruse, and Dieter Roelstraete. Stop by to learn more about the artist’s work and pick up a signed copy while enjoying light refreshments. The catalogue is available for purchase for $ 45 a copy at Roos. See you at the reading!
